This time of year there isn't much to report for gardening on the homefront. We are under a heavy blanket of snow making those new seed catalogues look all the more enticing. We just returned from our winter vacation in the sunny south. We stayed in the Lakeland area where local strawberries were in season and the orange trees were laden with fruit. You can read more about our vacation here and here. For the next few posts here I'm going to focus on some of the Florida vegetation we enjoyed. As we wandered through the grounds we noticed a lot of vegetation that we were not familiar with so I will post pictures of some in the hopes a reader may be able to identify the plant.
It was technically winter in Florida during our vacation so things were not as lush and green as they could be but there was no blanket of snow so we were willing to just enjoy. Orange trees adorned just about every lot in the exclusive golf and country club we stayed at. They were beautiful and we did enjoy fruit from them. The fruit was mouthwatering!
Happy Gardening!
