Yesterday afternoon I spotted the first robin of the season! I quickly grabbed the camera just in time to see him take flight so didn't get a picture. This is a good sign that spring is almost here!

Neighbours talking over the garden gate has long been a tradition. They share gardening tips, complain about the weather and pests yet are ever eager to discuss their gardens. That is what I had in mind when creating this blog. So stop by my garden gate to find out the latest happenings in my garden.

I haven't heard about robins foretelling the coming of Spring. The European robin is normally seen all winter and a cuckoo marks the beginning of Spring :-)
ReplyDeleteRobins migrate south for the winter here. Their return is a sure sign that spring is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteI love taking photos of animals and plants too, better luck next time
ReplyDeleteI agree, Robins are the first sign of Spring, I also think they are hardy enough to come too soon as here in Minnesota.
